Applied Data Consultants, owner of the Elite EXTRA software, constructed a new building and remodeled two of its existing buildings in the midst of the pandemic. Planning on the facility had begun two years prior, and the groundbreaking took place on March 13, 2020. The next day the entire country shut down, but all of the materials and contracts had already been ordered and there was no option for the company to postpone building. Construction immediately began and was completed in April 2021. The company is extremely grateful to the hundreds of boots on the ground that turned their dream into a reality, especially at one of the most difficult times in history. A party will be held in their honor at the new campus on Friday, May 21. Here is our thank you to the men and women who made it happen.
On March 14, 2020, we sent our entire Elite EXTRA team home to work remotely, but your work in creating our company’s new headquarters was just beginning.
You started moving dirt, mounting steel beams, hoisting concrete walls, and putting in all of the building blocks to the foundation of what would become our new campus.
The new three-story building started to rise like a phoenix out of the pandemic, a beacon of hope for all who drove by that there was a future amidst a darkness never before seen in our lifetimes. Seeing all of you working each day truly served as assurance to passersby that life would go on.
Every day, for over a year, you came in stages… sometimes drywallers, sometimes roofers, sometimes window installers, and a host of others using your crafts to help shape our new building. When we did stop by to view progress, we enjoyed witnessing the transformation, hearing your stories, and listening to all of your genres of music — hard rock, old and new country, rap and occasionally Frank Sinatra. And sometimes you even sang. All brought us joy.
When we envisioned what a new building could look like on our campus, we never thought that the reality could surpass the vision, but that’s exactly what happened.
Our new campus is like none in the Chippewa Valley, or even beyond. After all, a high-tech building in the middle of a field, featuring an atrium, sparkling concrete and steel beams is virtually unheard of, especially around these parts.
We wanted a place where our teams could work together, inspire each other and innovate. A place where collaboration would happen over a game of ping pong, pool or shuffleboard. And where the day could end with a cold beverage among friends.
You gave us that. And you did it in a time like no other. A time where uncertainty reigned and where, like most of us, you were grappling with keeping loved ones safe, and perhaps homeschooling children or taking care of elderly parents or grandparents.
You managed to bring it all together, even when some of your crew members contracted the coronavirus and had to be quarantined for weeks.
We developed relationships with many of you through the course of the past year, and marveled at your fortitude, humor and work ethic during that tenuous time.
We are extremely grateful for every piece of wire, concrete, steel, flooring, paint, lighting, ductwork, and drywall that graces these buildings.
A sincere ‘thank you’ for all you did to build our dream amidst a nightmare.
