Scholarship Established to Honor Founder and President Jim Ward’s Parents
We are pleased to announce that we have two new recipients of the 2020 Mary and Dave Ward Scholarship: Ashley Ives, daughter of Project Manager Denise Ives, and Nicholas Bruder, son of Chief Operating Officer Ron Bruder.
The scholarship, established by Applied Data Consultants/Elite EXTRA Founder and President Jim Ward and his wife, Michelle, was created in 2018 to honor Jim’s parents, who were both educators who instilled in Jim and his siblings the importance of education.
According to Jim, “My parents, both educators, always expected and somehow funded myself and my three siblings to attain education beyond high school. They inspired us to achieve our goals and to pay it forward. Being able to contribute to the success of these young people is our way of not only honoring my parents, but to also give back to our team, and to help nurture the minds and talent of the next generation; much like my parents did with us.”
Scholarships are awarded to the children of employees who maintain a 2.75 grade point average and submit an essay on how technology can improve the world. Recipients are eligible to receive up to $4,000 in scholarships that can be applied to either two-year or four-year degree programs. There have been seven scholarship awardees to date.
